The ESCALATE project will study the use of a wearable powered exoskeleton (Indego Therapy® – Parker Hannifin Corp., US) in community ambulation: both healthy and stroke subjects will be recruited for assessing the performance and the tolerability during the movements assisted by the exoskeleton in real-life scenarios.
The outcomes of the project will allow quantifying how the robotic solution
matches the user needs, in terms of given assistance, performance indicators, safety, and user acceptability. These data will help the clinicians, the patient associations, and the society to comprehend the feasibility of the use of a wearable powered exoskeleton at home and in the community.
