“The EURBENCH projects allow us to experience the new challenges of designing benchmarks for humanoid mobility and manipulation”
Why participate in the FSTP-2 EUROBENCH open call?
“We are very happy for the great support and participation of the EUROBENCH team in making sure the outcome of each individual FSTP will integrate smoothly in the final EUROBENCH testing facilities”

MADROB and BEaST were selected in the first FSTP call. Both projects aim at the development of testbeds for the benchmarking of humanoid robot interaction with complex moving objects, namely, an active door and an active trolley.
Members of the consortium have been involved in the design and development of benchmarks for intelligent robots for more than 10 years, but never with humanoids before. The EURBENCH projects allow us to experience the new challenges of designing benchmarks for humanoid mobility and manipulation. The EUROBENCH activities have been also synergic to the design of robot competition episodes in the SciRoc EU funded project which shares most of the MADROB and BEAST consortium partners.
The application process for the FSTP-1 call was straightforward and significantly easier than classical funding schemas, especially for what regards the financial aspects. Moreover, EUROBENCH FSTPs are short timed and very focused activities and this simplifies the writing of the proposal and the structuring of activities.
We suggest applying to the second call also for the passionate and supporting team and the active research environment. Indeed, we are very happy with the EUROBENCH FSTPs, not only for the clear scientific goals and the perfect alignment with other research activities, but, especially, for the great support and participation of the EUROBENCH team in making sure the outcome of each individual FSTP will integrate smoothly in the final EUROBENCH testing facilities.
